By Mario, KD6ILO

Hi Bryon,

Before I enter in to my ATV activities for the week.

I would like to thank you for  your help on my current

project of getting my new 2.4 GHz station on the

air by your donation to the project of a Comtech

transmitter so I can proceed on getting a signal to

Santiago Peak on 2.4 GHz when  I go mobile. I

would also like to thank Mike, WA6SVT for his

help with the project. I will be adding a new receiver

unit to my own repeater for 2.441.5 MHz. The

repeater was built for portable, fixed base and

mobile use for ARES/RACES and general use

by amateur ATV users, the unit is built in a pelican

case. Because of my current location I do not have

a good line-of-sight directly to Santiago Peak, but

I will still try to see if I can from my current QTH which

is 57 miles south of the repeater as the crow flies.

W7AMQ ATV Net

for Monday May 24th 2010 @ 7;30PM PT.

As always a great group get together with net control

Dennis, WA7DRO as host. This time I used my

Skype connection via Ed, WB2QHS to feed my

video and audio to the repeaters input which worked

very well.Glenn, KJ7SU had a better picture sent to

the repeater better than last week as he added an

amp to his transmitter which improved his signal

from a P2 to a P4 with great audio. We also had

Ken, KA7OSM check in from Idaho via Skype

through Ed's station as Ken was away on business

in Idaho. Listed are the check ins;

Other great get together from the BH group. Dave,

G8ADM was transmitting a 70cm digital picture

signal on 436.0 MHz at 2MHz bandwidth using

just a couple of hundred milliwatts of power to

Paul, G6MNJ who was also recording the

receive video and audio for Dave so he would

have a video log of the test. The picture was an

excellent P5! I really enjoyed the net along with

some other stations. As always Russell, G7RZF

come on later showing up with other project he

was working on. He also give us a tour of London

and showed off an Airshow at Duxford showing

WW2 aircraft and since I am a GA pilot I really

enjoyed it. These guys have such great fun with

their ATV stations and its' great to watch. Listed

GB3KM ATV Group Net

Wednesday May 26th 2010 @ 3:30PM PT.

It was a small group net with Rob, M0DTS and

Brian, G3KJX along with myself on batc. Brian

was showing off his different mobile antenna ATV

set-ups with large mounted rotors installed.

Because of the time difference the net was short

as the GB3KM stream shuts off at 12 mid-night

their time, 4PM pacific. No matter how short the

net was it was very interesting and informative.
