TARP PSR Journal

Has a New DATV Article

Hi Bryon N6IFU,

TAPR is a world-wide organization of hams that are interested

in and active in digital communications technology for hams.

TAPR publishes an on-line quarterly journal called PSR.

I recently teamed up with Hans Hass DC8UE (near Hamburg)

to write a new DATV article for the TAPR PSR quarterly journal.

Hans-DC8UE is one of the sysops at the DBØDLH DATV

repeater in Hamburg and also has experience as a satellite

communications engineer for a commercial television station.

The PSR article on DATV is called....

Overview of DVB-S Modulation for Digital-ATV

Abstract:  The purpose of this article is to introduce a few

DATV DVB-S modulation concepts that are typically not

understood by hams and even analog ATVers. DVB-S

modulation has an advantage over analog-ATV and other

digital-ATV modulations in that the RF bandwidth can be

as narrow as 2 or 3 MHz. This article will walk through

various DATV factors for determining the resulting RF

bandwidth for DVB-S modulation. Finally, the paper looks

at the impact of amplifier linearity on the quality of the

DATV QPSK transmission.

This DATV article can be found at the TAPR WEB site

inside PSR#111 at

www.TAPR.org/psr.html

I thought you and your readers might be interested.

73...de Ken W6HHC and Hans DC8UE

Thank you Ken & Hans for all the DATV News you pass along.

^ Looking for:

Hi Friends , i have a old JVC TM 22EK field

monitor which is 240 volt and 12 volt but alas

i cannot find on the internet a connector din

plug for this, nor any information about this

din plug power cable, now i know i used to

have one when i was back in Bristol 10 years

ago but alas time and the move  have

somehow lost it, Now i am EMailing all my

friends to see if you know or possibly have

a din plug wired or otherwise or any info as

to where i can obtain one.

I have tried to see if i could hard wire it but

it has this strange arangement where it can

charge the battery at same time and its not

simple to get at or remove the din for me

to hard wire.

Well you know how bad i am at internal

wiring haha.. anyway if anyone has any

info or a wired plug lying around or know

where i can get one  i would be very

grateful...Many thanks

Phil GD1HIA
