News ___________________________________________ ^ From what I hear, Santiago had a power failure last week and when it came back on Oat Mtn. could no longer be received on Santiago. Then I heard that Norm KD6OMV went to the repeater on Santiago and serviced the receiver. And he might have switched the input port to the old Santa Barbara input. But the fix didn't last and the link is down again. Allan W6IST the custodian of Oat Mtn. checked into the net early via 2 meters and didn't know about the problem so I guess the powers to be believe that the problem is on Santiago Peak and not Oat. Like I said, this is what I have heard and it could be true or a bunch of Bologna. Bottom line, somethings broke. Oat does work fine as a local repeater and we can see Santiago Peak fine. ___________________________________________ ^ Got a joke? send it to atv-newsletter@hotmail.com _______________________________________ _______________________________________ ^ ____________________________________ Snow Peak: The link into Santiago Peak has been turned off because there is something keying the network on and off. It was turned on during the Net and Keith, N6GKB checked in with his best picture so far as well as audio. Blueridge: I heard Mike W6MAF talking about getting to the repeater and working out the link to the High Potosi repeater in Las Vegas before winter seals off access until spring. Mike said this little bet of cold weather is a wake up call that time is running out. N6AZV: I saw Bob N6AZV check-in to the Net late this week. And there was no problem with your audio. Good to see you Bob. W6WYN: We all saw Al W6WYN check-in to the Net this week and there was no problem hearing his audio here on Oat Mtn.. Good to see you as well Al. ____________________________________________________ ^ ____________________________________ ______________________________________ Repairs Needed for the ATN-CA Repeaters ________________________________________ Blueridge: 1. Establish link from Mt. Potosi Mt. Wilson: Oat Mtn.: 1. Replace plastic wire ties with appropriate fasteners. 2. Tune 2.4 GHz link dipole for better SWR. It would be a good idea to sweep the 1200 MHz antenna at the same time as well. Santiago Peak: 1. Remove KC6UQH's call and Palomar from the W6ATN repeaters ID's (late spring early summer 08 when the new controller is installed) 2. Look into weak signal getting into one of the inputs. 3. Find intermittent receive problem for link from Oat Mtn..(1/24/09) 4. Resolve problems with WiFi getting into receiver for Snow Peak & Point Loma (April 28, 2009) 5. Install new 5 GHz transmitter once it is repaired (3/10/09) Snow Peak: 1. 2.4 Ghz input is operational but has audio problems due to receiver problems on the network hub.. July 23, 2009 2. The 1200 MHz output does work and you can watch. Point Loma, W6RDF: No Repairs Needed/Fully Operational Trustee Robert Swain, KA4JSR 1. Off the air do to AC problems at the shack.
