Oat Mtn. News

^ Update: Oat 434 MHz signals Wane

Shortly after I sent out last weeks ATV Newsletter I received

the following email from the Oat Mtn. Site Owner. Here is

his email:

No one asked about moving the master antenna.  It failed

the other week and a temporary 450-470 antenna was

installed.  We have a new 440-470 omni on order to

replace it.

Some type of omni antenna that was mounted above

the master was removed as it was not connected to anything.

When the replacement antenna comes in the removed

antenna can not be reinstalled.

Sent from my iPhone

I have thanked the Site Owner for the update as well as

asking him to let me know when the new antenna is installed.

When I am made aware that the new antenna is in service

I will sent out an email to all 434 MHz users on Oat. N6IFU

ATN-CA Repeater Report

Repairs Needed for the ATN-CA Repeaters

1. Establish link from Mt. Potosi
Mt. Wilson:
Oat Mtn.:
1. Replace plastic wire ties with appropriate fasteners.
2. Tune 2.4 GHz link dipole for better SWR. It would be a

good idea to sweep the 1200 MHz antenna at the same

    time as well.
Santiago Peak:
1. Remove KC6UQH's call and Palomar from the W6ATN

repeaters ID's (late spring early summer 08 when the new controller is installed)
2. Look into weak signal getting into one of the inputs.

3. Find intermittent receive problem for link from Oat Mtn..(1/24/09)

4. Resolve problems with WiFi getting into receiver for Snow Peak

    & Point Loma (April 28, 2009)

5. Install new 5 GHz transmitter once it is repaired (3/10/09)

Snow Peak:

1. 2.4 Ghz input is operational but has audio problems due to

receiver problems on the network hub.. July 23, 2009

2. 434 MHz input still doesn't work. July 23. 2009 and may be

    turned off.

3. The 1200 MHz output does work and you can watch.

Point Loma, W6RDF: No Repairs Needed/Fully Operational

   Trustee Robert Swain, KA4JSR

1. Off the air do to AC problems at the shack.
